Ever look at the many wonders in nature and be astounded by it? What most astounds me is the why’s, how’s and what’s behind those creations. Like why does the brain never run out of memory? What holds all the planets in complete sync of one another? Lately I am very intrigued with the mind and more specifically the reason why the mind dreams.
Lately I have been doing some research into how the mind works and also the different miracles of the brain. As most of you know even the greatest of minds in the world use less than 10% of their brains. Can you imagine how fucking smart and intelligent a person could be if they used just a percentage more?!
Through my research I have found that there are different levels of sleep and the best one is R.E.M (Rapid Eye Movement) Sleep. Now this is the 4th stage of sleep and usually what we may call a deep sleep. It is at this stage that people often have dreams. Some scientists believe that the images and sounds one perceives when they are asleep are mere byproducts of the neurons firing away in the brain. Others say that it is the minds way of coping with all the different things happening around us while we sleep. For example has this ever happened to you that your alarm is ringing in the real world but in your dream someone seems to be shouting your name over and over again?
See the thing is that your brain is still awake while you are asleep. The reason we need sleep is because our body needs to recharge and heal itself after a long day of staying awake. I guess the later theory could be adopted and be the truth of the matter that a dream is just the mind’s response to the different processes and changes that happen to the body over night.
But then I had a thought and with that thought I will end this blog. How do you know what you had last night was a dream? Isnt it because you wake up? What if you don’t wake up? Is it still a dream then? or is it a reality that some deem as heaven or hell? Think about it. Let me know what your opinion of the matter is.
